He is talking absolute sense, I mean 9 out of 10 adults in the East end on Benefits? C'mon this just isn't wrong, its an absolute scandal! Glasgow's the benefits capital of the UK? We are supposed to be a vibrant city, this is just downright embarassing for the city....
Words are Dangerous weapons ! Some Kind of Benifit means Pensions and Family allowance that are applied to everyone ! Dont fall for this media hype and people like Tom Hunter who made all thier money from selling Shell suits and Trainers for £100 a pair on provident credit schemes should not become social commentators because they think it suits them for some misguided reason or other.
…
Glasgow Like all Cities has various issues but we are Vibrant and this is all changing but we need help to change it for the better quicker by having more investment in Industry and other job creating areas.Rant over. More
That aside Peter being the UK's benefit capital area has the highest benefits cost per person still cant be a good thing. If benefits are applied to everyone and Glasgow is still higher then it's not hard to work out that its not only the standard issue benefits that are being abused here.
Good to see strong opinions and heart-felt views being shared on KILTR. I can see where Hunter is coming from, but like Peter, I don't think he should be in the business of labelling one of the poorest areas of the UK as "pampered".
Guys
As I said Words are Weapons..... Look at this from The Guardian that gives a different picture and a decline in Glasgow East !!
Still in there as Scotlands' biggest abuser of the benefits system however not the UK's like the SUN points out!

The BBC reports that the Scottish government has confirmed that it wants to set a minimum price for alcohol of 50p per unit.
I think that "minimum pricing" of alcohol is a total red-herring that will have next to no positive effect on Scotland's problem drinking culture. This, to me, smacks of politicians being seen to be doing something rather than actually doing something...
A "dancing" dog won £500,000 on Britain's Got Talent this weekend, beating a bullied, teenage opera singer into second place.
