A wee story about a local lassie. http://rki.lt/JkKYMz
Fantastic news Frank and WOW what an amazing and again humbling story, thanks for sharing it!
Hope Sam get's all the support she deserves from sponsors and anyone else here on KILTR who is touched by her bravery and inspiration.
Yes it's some undertaking lets hope she reaches here goal and goes from strength to strength
Let us know how she get's on Frank and if there is any link we can follow for donations perhaps amongst the KILTR community. Social media in action for something like this is most definitley good news!
I will find out and post thanks for the tip
You are welcome Frank as is your local lassie! This is so refreshingly what niche social media is all about. Look forward to hearing more.
That's an amazing story, thanks! To not even pause to feel bad and then the physio taking her cross country to learn about disability sports for the paralypics! Definitely something to inspire support. I'd happily spread the news if you get some fundraising mechanism set up. :)
Good or bad, who knows! this story helps me to remain open-minded to the possibility that even when things look bad, they are more often than not miracles in disguise! The trick is to suspend judgement for long-enough to let the wisdom of life reveal itself...
Sitting comfortably? Here's the story...
Once upon a time there was an old wise man that owned a lovely horse. Then out of the blue one day his horse broke free and ran away. A neighbour who heard what happened said: ‘That … is terrible news that your only horse ran away’. However the wise man replied, ‘Good or bad, who knows!’
Miraculously a week later the man’s horse returned, bringing with it ten wild stallions. Witnessing the spectacular scene, the neighbour said, ‘That’s great news that you now have 10 new stallions’. To which the wise man replied, “Good or bad, who knows!”
A few days later the son of the wise man was out training one of the new stallions when he was thrown off, landed badly and broke his leg. The concerned neighbour said, ‘That’s terrible news that your son broke his leg.’ The wise man responded in a similar fashion to the previous times saying, ‘Good or bad, who knows!”
Two more weeks passed at which point the army came to town enrolling the healthy young men to go away and fight in the war. The son couldn’t fight because of his leg. And yes, you guessed it, the wise man had the same open-minded response: ‘Good or bad, who knows!’
Sometimes not getting what you think you want is a wonderful stroke of luck – Dalai Lama
I love this parable because it so beautifully illustrates what when things happen in life you never know for absolute certain, at the time, if it is good or bad. And if you are patient, you will more often than not appreciate looking back on events that they were the best possible things to happen. Or said a different way, miracles are always happening, even if at the time we don’t always recognize them as such.More

Eyes to the skies on Coll :
It must be amazing to live there. Thanks for the post Richard.
I would be very interested in traveling there. I tried to see the Northern lights in Iceland earlier in the year, but it was too foggy and the trip was cancelled. The key to Coll is going to be getting there, so if they want tourist traffic they're going to need to make transportation there easy to access.
Indeed, you are right. Alison. I saw them in Iceland years ago and it was sensational*** It would be good to hear of how one can access Isle of Coll and to share the 'experience'. Cheers, Stephen

Great news for the Isle of Coll.
I know of a sustainable Bed and Breakfast near Gairloch, in the North West where the Aurora can be seen regularly. Check out their Facebook page www.facebook/croft23highland for some stunning photos taken earlier this year.

The Cruise liner season starts in a few weeks at Invergordon and will be the busiest ever. Catching these big liners from the air is one of my best days at work.
Amazing image Scotavia! Thanks for posting. Hope it is the busiest ever. Diane
Aye, fabulous photography young man :-) I remember being on the 11th floor of Calypso in the Carribean and marvelling at how the bloody things stay afloat with such huge mass!!
What a great shot Scotavia. Long time family friends from Seattle, WA will be off on a cruise around Britain in the summer and stopping off at Invergordon for a wee pit-stop visit.

Forgot to put up the link. Sorree!
Wow, this should be front page news, not just in the politics section. Just a thought. Something to be proud of.
Yes good news seems to be hidden with the bad and sensational news on front page. I wonder what this says about us as a society?
Great point Fiona!
We seem to have become "conditioned and predisposed" towards the negative, something else to unlearn, dare one say, so shoud the press and BBC!
If I were starting a news channel the good news would come first, imagine the emotional … impact that could create on the start to each day when we pick up the paper at breakfast or switch on the telly :-)
So, thanks for all the positive posts here and spreading the good news!More
I think the reason this would not be on the front page or thought of as good news is cause first you have to die to be a donor. Don't you? ;-) I'd like for someone to have my heart, but first I have to finish using it.
Yes Alison true you have to die for the transplant to occur, but you don't need to die to carry donor a card.
More good news for Scotland's oil and gas renewables industry on the BBC today.
