Master of Malt have created a bottling of their very own called 'Secret Speyside Malt'. It doesn't have an age statement as this allows them to buy the whisky at a low price considering its quality. They state that this means we can offer you an excellent single malt at an entry-level price. (£29.99)
Tasting Notes: Speyside Single Malt is a rich, fruity dram with vanilla and spice on the … nose and a fat toffee palate with manuka honey, raisins and sweet citrus notes.
They also offer a sample size bottle if your not sure, worth a try?

Sharks possess electrical sensors, called the ampullae of Lorenzini, that look like tiny freckles on their snouts. Biologists believe sharks use these sensors to detect the heartbeats of their prey and to navigate using the Earth's magnetic field.
Eric's "Smart hook" Eric's "smart hook" is magnetised and wrapped with a magnesium alloy foil. Stroud suspects the spinning magnet overwhelms these electrical sensors.
Bulgarian artist Georgi Tushev creates magnetic landscapes, his forms simultaneously recalling nebulous cells and galactic moonscapes to strike a precarious balance between painting and sculptural art.
She refused........, how dare you she quietly whispered and proceeded to kick his shins hard with her boots. Buy me a steak bridie first and ill think about it. just then.....

Sad tale about Deep House Hero 'Gemini' AKA Spencer Kincy. A true legend enjoying a bit of a re-issue resurgence at the moment while he is missing, homeless and not getting paid for his output.
Unbelievable image of lightning striking water just off of Lake Shore Drive, Chicago. Stunning!
Beautiful picture.
Great image.
How's ths for a seafood restaurant? The Ithaa Underwater Restaurant is sunk about 16 feet below sea level at the Hilton Maldives Resort and Spa. The resort is located on Rangali Island a ways off the southern most coast of India. The design of the restaurant was completed by New Zealand design consultancy firm, MJ Murphy Ltd. To eat at the restaurant, prices start at $120 for lunch, but go up to around $220 to $250 for dinner!
Not sure if I'd enjoy that tbh! Looks a bit claustrophobic!
Who am I kidding, 120 bucks for lunch........I don't think so! :)
I wonder if the band doing the nights entertainment plays in Scuba gear outside the tunnel!! :-)
MIght pay the plaice a visit - just for the sheer halibut!
Sheer Halibut ! I would not shell out 240 Squid for a crab Lunch ! I would always be thinking that ray even if I was having a whale of a time .....
There is clearly something fishy about the whole project, its the scale of it. it is clinical and has no Sole. I would fin somewhere else.

National Geographic announced their Best Underwater Pictures: Some of the images from the winners of 2012 amateur contest below; Anyone have any creatures of the deep images from Scottish waters?
Definitely not the same quality as those! - but I do have some photos from a diving trip in Thailand a couple of years ago.
Brilliant, is that a Moray Eel? Saw one of those when doing my PADI in Egypt a few years back. Scary beast!
It is a moray eel, yes. I just remember thinking that it wasn't half as scary as the conger eel I had seen in Loch Fyne! And the water temperature was a lot more scary than Thailand as well... 3 degrees C.
Just remembered I've got a couple of videos of the manta ray. They are the most graceful and beautiful creatures.
Amazing vid Michael. I dived the Similan islands a few years back from a live aboard boat. What a great experience that was. Kicking myself that i never had an underwater case for me camera!
James, that is exactly where the photos and videos are from. By far the best diving I've ever done. Do you remember the name of your boat or the company? I remember the DM was called Torren, but would need to look up the name of the boat or co.
Fantastic photos ans video thanks for sharing
These are just extraordinary. Crystal-clear waters. Let's hope we can keep the world's oceans this clean.
Incredible!

The secret ships of CalMac were three vessels constructed for ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) in 1964, when the Cold War had reached its height following the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.
Better known as ferries operated by CalMac, the vessels Columba, Hebrides, and Clansman have been reported to have been built as Cold War citadel ships for The Secretary of State … for Scotland.
All were built in 1964 and were fitted with advanced door systems which permitted the interior of the vessel to be hermetically sealed from the outside world, and were equipped with comprehensive decontamination and shower facilities internally, with external water spraying, or pre-wetting equipment fitted to protect the exterior. In the event of a nuclear, biological, or chemical (NBC) attack, the interior of the vessel - the citadel - would have been sealed and pressurised to prevent the ingress of contamination, while the exterior water sprays which covered the entire vessel would have enveloped it in a continuous stream of running water, intended to prevented contamination or fallout from settling on the outer surface.
The three ferries remained in operation until the 1980s, presumably with their NBC equipment maintained in a state of readiness. The last to be sold was Columba in 1988, only one year before the Cold War was officially declared over by US President George HW Bush and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev at the Malta Summit on December 3, 1989. Barnton Quarry lies to just over three miles west of Edinburgh, approximately halfway between the city centre and Edinburgh Airport, which was developed from RAF Turnhouse. The quarry was chosen as the site of an Operations Room for the Turnhouse Sector of RAF Fighter Command, and the overground building shown in the photograph is the original building constructed there during World War II.
…
During the Cold War, the facility was reused, and became one of 14 Regional Seats of Government (RSG) distributed around the country, massive underground bunkers where government services would have been transferred to in the event of nuclear war. The RSG was intended to house the Scottish Secretary and members of the Scottish Office, police, BBC, BT and others to form a wartime government in Scotland The underground facility dates from 1952, and added a further three storeys beneath the original World War II surface building.
Although constructed in secret, the existence of the RSGs was revealed by the Spies for Peace in 1963, after they broke into RSG-6 at Warren Row in Reading, and gained access to all the documentation held there. As a result, Barnton Quarry and the Cambridge RSG were picketed almost immediately by protesters. More
Now that is seriously cool urbex on our doorstep. I wonder how you get permission to enter as it's obviously reasonably well locked up given the low levels of internal graffiti.
I think its more the levels of asbestos that keep it Graffitti free, it was bought for 50K from Edinburgh council by a Glasgow Businessman and then put back up for sale in 1991. Just before a sale went through a fire ransacked the place and exposed dangerous levels of asbestos, so they reckon it will pretty much stay derelict forever. Try the Secret bunker near St Andrews, this is an absolutely fabulous day out.
Nice little investment opportunity anyone? Mr & Mrs Smith are offering 7.5% return per annum on a minimum investment of 1K or 9.5% return in holiday vouchers. If you know this company, you should know they only provide the very best of luxury holiday destinations. Tempted!!
Some lovely images of Scotland from Visit Scotland's photography Comp
Colin - terrific shots. Love the variety.
Do they keep the rights to use all competion entries ? Is it just a way for them to build a stock image bank on the cheap?
Just found their terms, its a rights grab again, such ashame because these are good quality images and they have a budget.
Loving the new full screen Gallery guys, so much more detail in these shots now!! :-)
Gorgeous images. Wish I could do something with mine (nowhere near as good as these).
great shots...especially the Highland calf...made me go all soppy!
The ZX Spectrum is 30 today, right who's old enough to have owned one?
My first computer!
48k LEGEND
I wrote what everyone now calls Facebook on mine back in '84 but took the rest of the world another 10 years to create the web. :-(
Yep. The one in the picture, then the upgraded one with the 'real' keyboard. 'Horace goes skiing' was the highlight for me!
Here goes the rest of the day ...
Got a picture of me playing my Spectrum aged 6. Must dig it out...
Fond memories of the the ZX81 and then upgraded ZX Spectrum +2.
Like Michael I remember playing Horace but also knackering the rubber keys playing Daley Thompson's Decathlon and Airwolf!
I LOVED airwolf!! I also loved Chuckie Egg
Oh.. Oh... and Jetpac!
and Dinos favourite Paper Boy
Aww my sister and I loved Paperboy when she had her ZX Spectrum!
Still trying to get my money back for this stinker

It was all about the Commodore 64 and then Commodore 128 but we had Knight Rider. Used to try and sync the game to the theme tune on the TV show...
Did you ever have this Anny?
Used to play this with my cousin.
Spent way too many hours on it but it's still the best game on the C64.
Always thought Paperboy was better on the C64
Cracking ZX Spectrum and ZX Spectrum+ Advert from the 80's
I think my fave Speccy game was this one.
It was a turn based strategy game but it was also one of the first that just gave you freedom to do what you want.
So you could blow up the enemy computer like you were meant to or you could go blow upp the coffee vending machines or cut the grass.
…
Loved the names of the characters too.
They all had names like Billy Bragg, Jasper Prune, Topper Headon, Slarty Bartfast and so on. More
Oh aye, I've got a ZX81 with a 16K RAM pack in the loft!!
I had a ZX 81! Wish I still had mine! More to the point, what games did you play!? I loved the Hobbit.

dial up exchanges and get free calls..... If only Mr Sinclair had made better
and faster we might not have Microsoft and Lord Sugar around today and we might have had Electric cars 20 years ago !! Britain might have been World Leaders in the computing world.....Point is what did you buy next ?
Peter, I almost feel ashamed that I bought the BBC computer almost the same time as I bought the Compaq portable which weighed about 15Kgs and had a 6 inch screen:-)
Top tip for haggis lovers, i discovered this by absolute chance. I had a salad with my haggis and tatties (as a substitute for the neeps as i didnt have any!) Anyway i used balsamic vinegar on my salad and discovered how amazingly well it goes with Haggis. Go on try it, it really is an amazing and surprising combo. :-)
This combination makes complete sense. I could suggest something like a vinaigrette dressing/sauce, as well. BTW, I discovered from the Macsween site that neeps are also called 'swedes.' As I tell them here in Sweden, you can't get away from the Swedes! It turns out that seeds to grow what are known as Swedish turnips in Scotland came from King Gustav III, I think it was. So a haggis experience is multicultural to begin with; this means we can add balsamic vinegar if we want!
Great discovery Colin, I will have to give it a try. Would you call it Haggis Salad? I like Haggis Eggs, it is delicious and even better with quail eggs.
Jim
I suppose you could call it that! It's the sharpness of the vinegar that works really well with the herbs and spices in the haggis.
Yeack!!I am sorry guys but i can not even smell haggis is a too badly fat food for me and my food regime, let be mediterranean the best healty diet. I suppose that if you are commited with sport discipline you can't eat those type of meals... lucky you nice people that you can !! Enjoy and have one for me.. Ciao.
