I'm very much aware of the affairs of the world especially with the recent gun violence in the United States. Part of the reason I created this exhibtion was a response to the current issues surrounding the gun issues in America.

Although it's a brief article in today's The Press and Journal I am stating that with my solo exhibition Encounter at Perth Museum & Art Gallery I give my full support to March for Our Lives. #Marchforourlives and the students fighting for anti-gun violence.

BANG IN THE NIGHT: ART FUSES GUNPOWDER WITH NATURE IN GUN PROTEST

A work called Heat of the Night by Glasgow artist Frank To, 36, who uses a unique technique in which he infuses gunpowder and copper to create his artworks. The artist says his use of gunpowder as a medium in his work is his way of speaking out against gun violence in the US, saying that he wants to use a substance that is 'used to kill' to create art. Mr To is also private art tutor to Shakespearean stage and screen actor Sir Patrick Stewart.
